Nevertheless, She Persisted.

I saw this and I don't know that I've ever seen a drawing that resonated so fully with me. Now, don't get it twisted. This isn't about a political party or politics for that matter. The reason this quote came up, is political. Because Senator Warren was silenced in reading an actual piece of evidence against the person being considered for our Attorney General. However, it became more apparent it was a double standards issue when later in the day a man read the same letter without interruption. It was said about Senator Warren that,

"She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted."

So many of these word bubbles above have been said to you as a woman or to someone you know. There's a double standard in this world, from the beginning days of "women  belong in the kitchen" to women "she shouldn't be eating that" to "she was asking for it wearing that skirt!" I'm sorry, but what the fuck?! NO.

I believe women can wear what they want, be who they are without apology, love who they want, act and speak how they want without fear of repercussions.
I believe being a good human towers over someone else being uncomfortable with how you speak, dress, act, etc. I doubt that any woman can read all of these and say they've NEVER heard them. That's the sad part.

If someone says, "Hey! You do xyz like a girl!" Fuck yes I do!
Because women are powerful, women keep this world moving and women will never back down. I'm honored + proud to be a woman. #SHEPERSISTED + so will I.
